Marina sang to the moon one night. But it wasn’t just any moon; it was Regalis, a celestial extension of Harmony. Moved by her message and her voice, Harmony reached out to her with its own heavenly melody–the beating of its heart manifesting in her world as a low-pitched, soul-stirring hum–a romanze just for her. When she dreamed that night, she came face to face with the Abyss Itself. Harmony asked her if they could sing a duet together to unite Inklings and Octolings in chorus, and the two became one.

This is how she’d appear during her visits to La Seri, and our resident Splatoon expert made an awesome visualization of how her connection with Harmony’s corruption would manifest back at home!

And her idol outfit–I adore the way Eli seamlessly added the Corrupted aesthetic to it. The zipper is such a good focal point for Marina’s outfit as a whole! If I recall correctly, there was some dumbo octopus inspiration in the shapes, particularly at her ears. AND THAT IS SO CUTE.

I drew a lot of inspiration from this design for her Serian look, so I gotta give credit where credit is due.

Of course, now I’m wondering–what would her next album with Pearl be? How will Marina reach out into the world with her newfound power? Will Pearl also accept the Black Aura and Awaken as another face of Harmony beside her darling (whose vocal range now includes a chilling, haunting baritone)?
